I recently had the opportunity to interview 10 year old Eric Roberts at the BCAPL National 8 Ball Championships.
He was there with his father Brian and his nine year old brother Jourdan. Both boys were competing at the BEF Junior National Championships.

first year that he competed. This year, he ended up finishing tied 13-16, while Jordan finished 17-24th. Our time was short, but I met with Eric’s’ coach Dominic Esposito, aka “The Drill Instructor,” and asked Eric several questions about his love of billiards.
Me: Why do you like playing pool? Eric: Because it’s an inspiring game, it’s very challenging to do well and I like that. Me: Do you have a coach? Are there any players you look up to? Eric: My coach is the Drill Instructor, Dominic Esposito. My favorite players are Shane Van Boening and Skyler Woodward. Me: What are your goals? What do you want to be when you grow up? Eric: To get a scholarship to go to college, shoot pool overseas, and help take care of my family. Me: Tell me about your equipment. Eric: I have a Pechauer sponsorship and Pool A Holic Apparel sponsor me. Me: How do you feel about the BEF and the opportunities they are giving to young players? Eric: I just want to say “Thank You” to them. Me: Who taught you how to play pool? Eric: My dad did and we tried to teach my grandmother how to play. Me: Who is your favorite superhero? Eric: Wolverine (X-Men) Me: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Eric: Vanilla Me: If you were granted three wishes, what would they be? Eric:
Beat anybody in the world.
Help me with my family so no one ever got sick.
Help me with money, so I could take care of my family.
Eric is a sweet boy and I wish him all the best in his endeavours. I know we will be seeing much more of him and his brother at events in the future. Thanks to Sneaky Pete Mafia for the opportunity to do a short Q&A interview with one of the rising stars in the pool world.

Suzanne Smith is involved in pool on many levels and as well as being a champion pool player, she just really loves the game! She was recently nominated to the board of the Northwest Women’s Pool Association which is the only women’s WPBA sanctioned regional tour in the North Western US. Suzanne is the Editor/Creative Director for Sneaky Pete Mafia Magazine which is a brand new publication in the billiards community (see link above)Over the last year, Suzanne began to organize a series of breast cancer tournaments where they donate pink fees from each entry and a fund generated through raffle to the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation. As you can imagine, all of this keeps Suzanne very busy and while she also works part time as an Aquatic Scientist and is a Mom to two kids she somehow still manages to find time to practice and compete at a very high level!
