The UK Open Pool Championship, the first Matchroom Major announced on the 2025 calendar, features a stellar 256-player field, including the top 128 professional players on the World Nineball Tour. This year, the stakes are even higher, with a $200,000 prize fund and an increased top prize of $40,000 awaiting the champion.
All eyes will be on rising star Robbie Capito, who captured the title in 2024 with a thrilling victory over Mieszko Fortuński in a nail-biting final that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Capito’s $30,000 triumph was a breakthrough moment, earning him his first Matchroom Major title and a significant leap up the World Nineball Tour rankings.
Reflecting on his landmark win, Capito shared: "Winning the UK Open was a dream coming to reality, but the only thing better? Winning it again. I can't wait to return to Telford!”
