2024 US Open Championship Draw | Shane Van Boening Begins Quest For Sixth US Open Title

The draw for the 2024 US Open Championship set to take place at Harrah’s Resort, Atlantic City, NJ, US, from August 19-24 is complete. Shane Van Boening begins his quest to claim his sixth US Open title, while Ko Ping Chung is set to defend his title. 


FULL DRAW HERE PURCHASE TICKETS HERE Alongside Van Boening and Ko Ping Han, Matchroom Sports President Barry Hearn OBE, and renowned TalkSport Radio host Andy Goldstein will make their World Nineball Tour debuts. The pair will face Konrad Juszczyszyn and 2002 US Open champion Ralf Souquet, respectively.


Hearn commented: "I needed this opportunity to understand the experience from the other side of the ropes. I’m very aware that I might be completely humiliated, but I will give it my all with every bit of knowledge and mental effort I have."


Goldstein added: "Playing in the US Open in any field is just incredible. So when I was asked, I was absolutely thrilled. It’s a childhood dream come true."


In other matchups, the legendary Earl ‘The Pearl’ Strickland, another five-time US Open champion, will face fellow American Mike Delawder in his quest for a sixth title. Scottish Open champion Duong Quoc Hoang will compete against David Callaghan in his opening match, while Ko Ping Han, the younger brother of the defending champion, will go head-to-head with Norwegian cueist Martin Meintjes.


Rising star Mustafa Alnar will take on Alexander Bausch as he continues his pursuit of his first Matchroom Major. Filipino players Jefrey Roda and Jeffrey Ignacio will face Elias Patrkios and Levie Lampaan, respectively, in the first round. Two-time US Open champions Darren Appleton and Mika Immonen will meet Matt Krah and Grover Foster, respectively, in their initial matches. The TV Table will be broadcasted via Sky Sports in the UK and DAZN in the USA from 10 a.m. on 19 August.

The US Open Championship will feature a 256-player field on the World Nineball Tour. The tournament will begin with a seeded double elimination format featuring the top 128 World Nineball Tour players. From there, only 64 players will advance to the single elimination rounds. Stakes are high with a $300,000 prize pot in the offing and the second automatic spots set to be locked in for both Team Europe and USA ahead of the 2024 Mosconi Cup, 30 November - 3 December, as well as the third qualifying spot for both Team Asia and Team Europe in the inaugural Reyes Cup in October 2024.

The top 128 players in the field were seeded based on the 2024 World Nineball Tour Rankings with Round 1 matches taking place over the opening two days.
