October 8, 2014 (Denver, CO): The Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) is thrilled to announce its 27th Annual Junior National 9-Ball Championships to be held August 4-7, 2015 at the South Point Hotel & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada alongside the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) Expo.
“We are excited to once again host the Billiard Education Foundation Junior National 9-Ball Championships during the 2015 BCA Billiard & Home Leisure Expo,” said Billiard Congress of America Chairman Mike Serra. “Supporting junior competition via our partnership with the BEF goes hand-in-hand with our mission to promote the game of billiards. We received an overwhelming number of positive comments from Expo attendees and exhibitors about the excitement and energy the BEF Junior Nationals brought to the 2014 Expo. We look forward to an even more successful event taking place during the 2015 BCA Expo in Las Vegas.”
For over two decades, young billiard student-athletes from all over the country compete in local qualifiers for their chance at this prestigious title, scholarship dollars, and prizes. It’s the only junior event in the U.S. that qualifies young players to compete at the WPA (World Pool-Billiard Association) World Junior 9-Ball Championships. Between junior leagues, qualifiers and the newly launched Junior State Championship program, the BEF is anticipating its largest participation next year.
The national championships boasts four age divisions: 18 & Under Boys; 18 & Under Girls; 14 & Under Boys; and 14 & Under Girls.
